1st March 2017
On Wednesday 1st March, Hanbury Dance Club took part in DanceFest 2017 at South Bromsgrove High School. 23 children from years 2, 3 and 4 joined over 400 children from other schools in the area to showcase their talent.
We decided to dance two of our traditional country dances with all children joining in with a circle dance called The Comhopton Circle and Years 4 and 3 performing a line dance called The Downfield Snowball.
After watching several schools, we were finally called to perform our first routine! The music started and we danced brilliantly. Towards the end of the dance, the music suddenly stopped but in true Hanbury style we carried on, calling out the beats of the music. When we finished our dance, we got the biggest clap and cheer of the morning so far and Miss Bishop was incredibly proud of us all.
Our second dance went very well too and we were proud that we had danced something different. We showed the other children a true sense of what being a part of a rural school meant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our morning and our behaviour was impeccable. Miss Bishop told us that we had shown the other children what a wonderful school we belong to and that our behaviour and enthusiasm would be reported back to Mr Payne.
We had a brilliant time and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be one of the schools invited back to perform in the Summer.
