Year 2 News: 7th December 2017

7th December 2017
Star of the Week:  Harry
Mathematician of the Week:  Genevieve
Writer of the Week:  Olivia
Values Champion:  Amelia

This week has been a bit different but we have achieved so much working together as a class and with our friends in Year 1.

We have missed Miss Jones very much and hope she is feeling better very soon.  A lot of us have been fighting the coughs and sneezes but have coped very well with our busy week.

We got to perform our nativity infront of an audience on Tuesday and Wednesday evening after our dress rehearsal infront of the school on Monday.  All the practicing we have been doing really paid off - everyone who saw the performances loved them!

Year 1 kindly invited us to join them on Forest School on Wednesday!  Lots of us helped plant bulbs (which we hope to see popping up in the Spring!) and made bird feeders.  We really enjoyed the fresh air... and sausage sandwiches!

LITERACY:  We have been putting the skills we learned last week to the test by writing letters to Santa.  We thought about using a range of vocabulary and structuring our writing to make our letters effective.

NUMERACY:  We have been cracking some Christmas codes which helped us perfect our place value skills!

ART:  We have been thinking about the seasons to create a lovely calendar and gave a 'big hand' to create our Christmas cards...we hope you will like them!
