Hanbury's Got Talent!
25th June 2020
Talented pupils have shown their support for Hanbury First School in the Worcestershire Virtual School Games by performing in a special music video.
A team of homeschoolers joined pupils who have returned to school online, in a rendition of S Club 7's "Reach for the Stars".
The collaboration is the school's entry for June's "Worcestershire's Got Talent" competition which is just one of the challenges that has made up the 2020 tournament.
With sports days throughout the county cancelled this year, the Worcestershire Virtual School Games has provided all pupils a taste of competition and an opportunity to represent their school. Whether at school or home, this friendly competition is open to pupils from Reception to Y13.
Weekly sporty challenges have tested speed, throwing and agility, with teachers and parents submitting results via the competition website.
The school has also submitted entries into a competition to design a competition flag which has run alongside the Worcestershire's Got Talent Showcase; a platform for dancers, gymnasts, singers, poetry writers, comedians bands, musicians and alternative skills to show other young people their talents and enjoy watching others.
Results will be announced along with highlights, shown as part of the Worcestershire Virtual School Games Week taking place every day between Monday 6th - Friday 10th July 2020 at 10.30am, via the competition's YouTube Channel.
Everyone taking part will receive an e-certificate, with the top 3 individuals receiving a placing e-certificate. There will also be an e-certificate for the most improved in each competition category and the primary and secondary school with the highest % of participants in each competition will receive a Decathlon e-voucher.
Hanbury PE Co-ordinator, Charlie Moseley-Downton said: “It has been wonderful to see how the competition has brought us all together at this very difficult time.
”PE is great at keeping our bodies and minds healthy, and the challenges have been great for all ages.
”Thank you to everyone who took part and did their bit for our team!”
