Heroes News: 5th July 2020

This week we visited the continent of Oceania, we particularly focused on Australia. 
 
At the beginning of the week the children learnt about dream stories and made Kangaroo puppets to retell the story of how the kangaroo got his pouch. The children also made some very colourful didgeridoos!
 
They then focused on the amazing Great Barrier Reef and discovered some fascinating facts about this underwater world. Did you know it's so big it can be seen from space?
 
We were inspired by this to create some beautiful turtle paintings using the dot technique that the aboriginal artists use. 
 
In maths this week we explored comparing objects to decide if they were heavy or light. Some of the class read scales and had to convert between g and kg to answers maths challenge questions.  
 
We can't believe that we only have two weeks left...
