Mathematician of the Week:  Amelia
Writer of the Week:  Freddy F
Values Champion:  Isabel
Numeracy:  This week we have been busy keeping time!  We have been using clocks to show the time to the hour and trying to find later and earlier times.  We also thought about what it means when things go faster or slower.
Topic:  We have carried out our first proper Science experiment.  We wanted to find out which material was the best insulator because we heard a rumour that some explorers are losing their ears in the cold!  We used thermometers to measure temperature and when we had collected all our results we found that some materials were much better than others at keeping us warm.  Year 1's top tip?  Don't use tissue paper!
We have been very busy making some Christmas decorations to sell at the Christmas Fayre so we hope you are all coming along.  Don't forget that next week is our nativity too - we have worked really hard and we can't wait for you to see us in action.
