At Hanbury C of E School we want our children to succeed and excel in competitive sport and physical activity. We want our children to become physically confident as well as fit and healthy. We believe that competing in sport can build character and help us learn about other important values such as fairness and respect.
In line with the National Curriculum our PE Curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils:
- develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
- are physically active for sustained periods of time
- engage in competitive sports and activities
- lead healthy, active lives
Hanbury is part of the All Active Academy in Bromsgrove. This means that we work with other local First, Middle and High schools providing wonderful opportunities in physical activity for our children. For example, we have experts visit school to talk to the children and teach them new skills, we also travel to other schools for competitions and festivals in a wide range of sports and physical activity.
We also provide swimming in Years 3 and 4, as swimming is both fun and an extremely important life skill.
