Reception News: 11th January 2019

11th January 2019
We would like to welcome Reception back after the holidays - the children have come back full of exciting news, which we have been using to practise our phonics and writing skills.
This week we have looked at constructing a sentence.  We tried very hard to remember our capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
In maths we revised 2d shapes and had a go at making our own using a variety of resources.  We particularly enjoyed using our own bodies!
On Friday, Boris taught us how our feelings and emotions can help us to be Heart Smart.  We had lots of fun creating emotions on Boris using play dough.  We loved his excited face!
We have been looking at the children's Word Fish and Spelling Logs this week.  Please keep up the great work with these at home - the improvements are great to see.
Don't forget, Forest School starts again next week.  We will be staying on site but children still need to be wrapped up warm in Forest School clothes as we will be busy outside all morning... as you saw last term, we don't let the weather stop us having lots of fun!
