Maths:  We have been comparing identical objects this week. When provided with number cards the children were tasked to show fewer, the same or more than the number cards they have chosen using monsters. The children showed brilliant maths this week quickly identifying more, fewer and the same as their chosen number. Well done! In number and place value we have been using numerals cards, number shapes, pictures and dots to match and compare. We looked at dominoes I asked them to count the spots on each side of the domino. Are there the same, more or fewer dots? Show me a domino that has equal amounts. We are really focusing on the language so that children are secure with this before adding and subtracting.

Phonics:  We are continuing to work on reading and writing our CVC words, so that children become confident with these. Remembering to use our correct letter formation. Alongside this we are learning those 'tricky' words. The ones we can't sound out and will make our reading more fluent.

Music: In music we have been, clapping, stamping, bouncing, hopping and lots more to the beat. We love expressing ourselves with a different genre of music each week. We really enjoy our weekly music sessions. Today was Pharrell Williams Happy that we listened and responded to. Couldn't get over the moves!
