This week the children were excited to receive a letter from the gingerbread men. The gingerbread men explained that they were worried about returning to the classroom in case the fox was lurking around, waiting to eat them. Each child has produced a wanted poster and written a descriptive sentence describing the fox. We will be putting the posters up around the school and we hope to capture the fox soon!

On Wednesday the children listened eagerly to Reverend Morris explaining the importance of Christingle. We learnt about what each part the Christingle orange represents. The orange represents the world, the ribbon Jesus' blood and the cocktail sticks the 4 seasons. Sweets and fruit on the sticks represent the food God gives us and the candle Jesus' light. After our zoom assembly with Reverend Morris each child made their very own Christingle orange.

This week in Maths the children have been using their counting and comparing skills to find one less than numbers up to 5 and then 10. We have encouraged the children to use equipment and tens frames to make the numbers and then make one less. The children are able to see the link that one less than a number is the next number they say when they are counting backwards. Outside we created a bus out of the tyres and took it in turns to sit on the bus. Gradually the children got dropped off at different stops and we worked out how many children were left on the bus. We have sung lots of songs such as five little ducks, five current buns and 10 green bottles sitting on the wall.
