Reception News: 31st January 2019

31st January 2019
In Reception this week we have continued to look at the signs of Winter in Forest School and have found out how we can look after the birds, especially while it is so cold. We have made bird feeders and used different sized cylinders to make birds and binoculars.

We have had a surprise visitor too – a giant penguin! He was so cold in the South Pole he decided to make a visit to our classroom to see if it is any warmer. The children have been writing letters to him and drawing pictures and then posting them in the post box.

In Literacy, we have been creating our own aliens and using adjectives to describe them.

In Maths, we have been learning all about 3D shapes and have made junk models using real 3D shapes and have made 3D shapes with cocktail sticks and playdough.
