Reverse Advent Calendar Update!

14th December 2017
Kind-hearted children at Hanbury C of E First School have been turning the tables during Advent to help youngsters spending this Christmas in hospital, but there is still time to make a donation!
Each day during the build-up to Christmas, children have been donating a small toy to put in our Reverse Advent Calendar.  Pupils were asked to donate small, wipeable gifts such as; toy cars, small play-people, play 'phones, plastic playing cards or games.
The project followed a day of activities about Advent and a visit from Reverend David Morris, Priest in Charge of Hanbury Church.  The children learned about the anticipation leading up to Christmas and how giving gifts can create as much joy and self-worth as receiving.
The response has been terrific so far.  Gifts will be delivered to the Riverside Children's Ward at Worcester Royal Hospital next week, so there is still time to get your gift into the calendar!
