Freestyle for Freddie!

29th September 2020
Another caring Hanbury pupil is going the extra mile (or 600 metres to be precise!) to help raise money to make changes to our site, enabling one of their friends to move around school more easily.
Lillianna from Reception class is a keen swimmer has decided she will do a sponsored swim over 6 days to add to the ever-increasing total that Freddie's mum is trying to raise.
She will attend the 25 metre pool she swims at and swim 4 lengths a day in front and back crawl (without swim aids) without stopping every night this week after school to complete her challenge
She completed her first 100 metres on Sunday 27th September and is extremely proud to be helping Freddie.  She has already added over £300 to the overall fund which aims to raise £20,000.

Lily told her Mum she was really sad she couldn‘t swim during lockdown as she loves it and she thinks Freddie will feel as sad if he can‘t go to school.

"Our Hanbury Values are at the heart of everything we do," said Headteacher Mr Payne.  "We have been overwhelmed with the support from families, staff and even total strangers who have heard about the appeal.

"I'm so impressed that Lillianna is showing so much kindness and endurance - we all wish her luck with her challenge!"
