World Book Day Plans at Hanbury

27th February 2020
Don't forget to get involved in our World Book Day preparations!
Reading and writing goes hand in hand but sharing stories and reading for pleasure also boosts imagination, calms and creates well-being, builds closeness and is terrific fun.
On Thursday 5th March we'll be sporting our PJs and dressing gowns or onesies, enjoying a day of stories and fun activities.
But we also want everyone to take part in a month of sharing stories, helping create readers for life, using the special "Share a Million Stories" reading record sent home earlier this week.
The pack also contains other activities you can complete at home, including a competition to win book tokens.  These are in addition to the WBD token which will be handed out too.
We will add the books, magazines, comics, graphic novels or audiobooks to our school total, which then feeds into a national total.
We look forward to supporting World Book Day, helping them reach their goal of one million stories shared nationwide.  It also gives us the chance to win £1000 of books for our school.
The World Book Day letter/activity pack sent home this week can also be downloaded by clicking here.
