Literacy: This week we have been busy being bossy! We have writing instruction about drawing a fish. We have tried to choose the correct time words and add a little detail so that the drawings are as accurate as possible.
Numeracy: We have been thinking about capacity and volume. We have been using the words empty and full and investigating how much a container may hold. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the classroom got very wet!
We have been looking at our local area and what makes it special. We are very lucky to go to school in such a beautiful place with Hanbury Hall and the church so close by. We thought about why each of these places were important and what we might do there. We now know that some places are near and some are far. Miss Bishop tested us with different pictures and we had to work out how near or far they were to us. If they were far we decided that we may need a plane or a boat to get there.
We've been getting our groove on in PE by taking part in Zumba. Miss Bishop came to watch our moves and was very impressed by our hip action! Even though we're dancing we're still getting lots of exercise.
Finally we would like to welcome Amelia to our class. She joined us last week and has settled in brilliantly. We are really glad she came to join us.
