Home learner of the week: Hollie

Wow Year 1!
You have blown me away with all your lovely photos, videos and messages after another week of home learning. I am so impressed with how hard you are working and how well you are doing. This week we have continued our summer maths. There were some quite tricky parts this week, involved splitting numbers to make bonds before adding them all up again, but you tackled it brilliantly. You have also continued with your Rising Stars reading books, kept up with your phonics and worked on your writing following our talk for writing plan. You had a go at creating your own characters and created comic books for them to star in. You tried out some mystery science experiments, made models and created brilliant animal art for Art Club.

I have been at school this week looking after key worker children. We did lots of baking using yeast, bread, rolls, cinnamon buns and even crumpets! We learned how the yeast likes warmth to make it grow and how it helps our bread to be soft and squishy. We also went on some treasure hunt walks, visited the duck pond at forest School and the hanbury hall sheep, and climbed a very steep hill up to the church.

Stay safe everybody, I miss you all so very much and I can’t wait to see you all when we can.
