Year 1 News: 7th December 2017

7th December 2017
Star of the Week:  Xander
Mathematician of the Week:  Max
Writer of the Week:  Isla
Values Champion:  Charlotte
We have all enjoyed a very busy week!  We all impressed our audiences with some fantastic performances in our nativity and have loved working together with Year 2 on lots of activities.
Our Forest School was lots of fun.  We were joined by Mrs Wilkes and Mrs Tandy for a special morning of outdoor activities (and sausage sandwiches - yum!).
We thought about how we could help the birds survive over the cold winter months and made them some Christmassy bird feeders.  We also looked forward to the Spring and helped Mrs Wilkes plant daffodil bulbs around the school - it will look fantastic when they all start to grow!
LITERACY:  We have all written some super letters to Santa.  We thought carefully about the words we should use and the reasons why we are writing the letter in the first place!  Some of us thought about some questions we could ask him.
NUMERACY:  We have been solving some Christmas puzzles, comparing objects and using words like 'tallest' and 'shortest'.
ART:  We have used our hands to create some wonderful Christmassy cards and calendars!
What with all of this AND doing PE with Mr Payne on Thursday, we might be a bit tired this weekend!!
