Year 2 News: 28th March 2019

28th March 2019
Star of the Week:  Max
Mathematician of the Week:  Tia-Mai
Writer of the Week:  Bodhi
Rocking Reader:  Logan
Values Champion (Forgiveness):  Oscar

Numeracy:  We have been halving shapes, objects and numbers this week.  We know what the numerator and denominator represent and have begun to look at quarters and thirds.

Literacy:  We all became animal experts this week.  We used our research notes to write non-chronological reports.  We found out about how to set our work out and all used sub-headings to make sure our reports were clear and organised.

GPS:  We have been thinking about all the homophones we know... words that sound the same but have different spelling/meanings.  We are working hard to use the right there/their/they're and to/too/two in our writing!

ICT:  We used the iPads to search for information to help us write our non-chronological reports.

Art:  We think you will like the projects we have created in art this week... but you won't know until Sunday... we hope it will be a lovely surprise!

Thank you to everyone who completed their homework this week... we try to go through any questions that the children may find tricky and to add information which we hope will help the children work out ways of solving the problems themselves.
