Year 2 have wasted no time since the half term break and have had another busy week. We are starting to think about our Class Assembly later this month, which will be all about Respect. We decided that respect makes people feel cared for and that we should treat others the way we would like to be treated.
We also boarded a bus to Bromsgrove School on Wednesday and had a wonderful time with other schools from our area at a KS1 Multi-Skills Festival! The children were wonderful representatives of Hanbury School - everyone gave all the activities their very best - Miss Jones and Mrs Shaw were very proud of them all!
Literacy: We have been reading a story about The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch and have been looking closely at the interesting words the author has used. We have been spotting adjectives and adverbs then making our own interesting sentences.
Numeracy: Patterns are everywhere! We've been identifying patterns in shape, size, position and number this week and trying to work out what would come later on in the pattern.
Science: We have been preparing for next week's experiment where we are going to test which of the 3 Little Pigs' houses was the strongest! We talked about how to conduct a fair test and how to make a sensible prediction. Finally, we all made pigs out of clay to hide in the houses - take a look below at just some of our creations!
Homework: Well done to everyone who handed in their half term handprint homework! There were so many lovely examples of work which obviously took time and effort to complete - extra Dojo points all round!
And if that wasn't enough excitement for one week... Charlie's tooth came out whilst he was eating his apple!
