We are working hard on our Class Assembly - including learning the first 1 minute 03 seconds of the RESPECT Rap... if you want to practice at home, here's the link...
We have all been so busy taking part in World War 1 Week and have participated in so many interesting and enjoyable activities.
Some very special visitors have been to see us and have talked about so many different aspects of World War 1.  Alan Quine from the Royal British Legion showed us real medals and explained what they were for.  Mrs Yarrington told us all about Alistair's Great, Great Grandad who survived the war.  Jason told us all about the animals that helped in the war effort and how Blue Cross looked after them (and are still looking after animals now).
In class we have also been...
  • medal pressing and painting, looking closely at real medals then writing instructions to help others who want to press their own medals.
  • creating watercolour/charcoal art, focusing on using perspective in our pictures.
  • writing information texts about World War 1, thinking about facts we have learned during the week.
  • making poppies to add to our beautiful window display.
