This week in year 3 we have started tennis with Mrs Ball, we have also been using the skills we learnt with coach Rhys last half term as we took part in the ‘Fundamentals of Football’ KS2 challenges. One group managed to score a whopping 124 points in 5 minutes for the ‘rapid rebound’ challenge (they kicked the ball against a wall and received it using alternate feet each time). Well done Noah S, Ben, Seb, Ollie B and Elijah.

In RE we continued to learn about the story of Rama and Sita and completed storyboards putting the story into our own words. We continued to make Rangoli patterns – using collage materials and also using sand and chalk in the playground. We talked about Diwali celebrations; who celebrates Diwali and as we are focussing on Hinduism, we concentrated on what it is like to be a Hindu in Britain today.

In maths we looked at addition with numbers bridging 10. We learnt how to use the column method and built on our knowledge of place value.

In Science we continued with our forces topic, focussing on magnetism and attraction and repulsion.

As part of our Remembrance Day activities we finished making our own poppies and did watercolour paintings on top of poems. We reflected on why it is so important to remember those who gave their lives so that we can live freely.

Thank you for all your donations and also for supporting Children in Need.
