Year 3 News: 9th January 2020

9th January 2020
A lovely first week back at school after our Christmas break.

In literacy we have started a new book, ‘The Promise’ as we continue to consider environmental issues affecting our planet. This week we looked at various ways of describing the city the girl lives in and we used our word/phrase bank to create our own free verse poems and setting descriptions.

In maths we have been recognising and drawing 2D shapes accurately and recognising and making 3D shapes.

Our PE this half term is rugby and tri-golf.

In science we looked at nutrition and what is needed to keep our bodies healthy.

In topic we will be learning all about chocolate in particular – sustainability. We started by labelling countries at or near the equator.

In art we created self-portraits and compared them to the portraits we did at the start of the year.

Our RE lesson consisted of looking at our wishes for the new year and writing prayers to ask for support/guidance in our objectives.
