Literacy:  What a lot of learning we have done this week!  We have watched video clips about World War 1 soldiers and learned about what life would have been like serving on the fromtline.  Our reading has included transcriptions of letters written from actual soldiers from the trenches.  We know that the conditions were awful and cannot imagine what it would have been like to be alive during the war years. We have started thinking about the things we would say in a letter if we were writing home.

Maths:  In order to add three and four digit numbers more effectively, we have considered whether a mental or written methods would be better.  We have had to round numbers to 10 and 100 in order to estimate.  We are practising thee skills because we know we will need to calculate in lots of different situations.

To help us learn more about Leonardo Da Vinci, we all took our sketch books outside and drew some wonderful works of art.  We had to pick one spot, and draw what we could see.  Mrs Hope was very impressed with how we were focused on the view we had chosen and the detail we included in our drawings.

We were all disappointed when the football tournament was postponed but we hope it will be rearranged soon!

We look forward to seeing you all to support our coffee morning in aid of Macmillan on Friday.  Any cake donations would be gratefully received.
