Year 4 News: 4th October 2018

4th October 2018

Star of the Week:  Brooke
Mathematician of the Week:  Nelson
Writer of the Week:  Harry
Values Champion:  George

Literacy:  We have now virtually completed our letters from the trenches.  In our work, we have tried to use fronted adverbials, powerful verbs and historical vocabulary.  In writing the letters, we have learned so much about the soldiers who fought in World War 1.

Maths:  We have spent this week consolidating how to use a formal method for subtraction.

Macmillan Coffee Morning:  I think you will agree that we all had fun, having a drink, a cake and a chat whilst raising money for Macmillan at the coffee morning last Friday.  We would like to say thank you for coming and helping us to raise the fabulous amount of £250.  Mrs Hope, Mrs Ball and Mrs Towler were very impressed with our hosting skills.

Tai Chi:  Mrs Baker has been teaching us a very tricky sequence of moves in Tai Chi and we are getting quite good at them.  She had to change her planning for us because we were so much better than she thought and we are impressing her so much.  Mrs Ball wants us to learn the rest of the sequence and do some Tai Chi when we go to Malvern in the Summer.
