We've turned the Christmas spirit up a notch this week... if that's possible!
We learned a poem to read during the Christmas Service.  It was lovely to get together with the rest of the school via Zoom and hear all the different performances.  We also had a good laugh at the pantomime we all watched on Tuesday too!
RE:  We've been investigating a work of art by Botticelli called "The Mystic Nativity" and looking for all the things in the painting that show us that Jesus' birth was a very special moment.  We saw how the angels were spreading the news and celebrating, whilst the wise men were bowing to the special baby.  We even talked about how the people in the painting might be happy because the world had been a dark place and Jesus was here to help make it better.
Art:  We had a fun time making our very own snow globes this week!  We used glycerine to make the magic glitter fall like snow.  We also made hot air balloon calendars for the year ahead by mixing colours to see what they made.
PE:  Our final basketball and Stellissa sessions were busy ones!  Ollie kept us running and dribbling our basketballs all lesson as we had some very competitive games of Pac Man!  We sang and danced our hearts out with Stella - she got us to help lead the routines and was very impressed with how we did.
We've also given Ms Whitney our very best wishes as she is getting married on Saturday!  The ceremony has taken a great deal of organising but we hope she and her husband to be have a very happy day.  We can't wait to see some photographs of her big day!
Miss Bishop is incredibly proud of Year 2 and the way they have returned to school in very different circumstances.  The children have worked hard with big smiles on their faces, tackling any challenge and giving their best.  Their thoughtful nature and enthusiasm to learn is infectious and every day has been a happy one.
Miss Bishop, Mrs Shaw and Ms Whitney hope you all have a nice rest over Christmas and that your holidays are happy and healthy ones.
See you in 2021!
