Bridget Weaving

Foundation Governor

"It has been wonderful to see how our school’s Christian values have been taken to heart by the whole school community.

"Hanbury School has a very special place in my heart for what it gave to my family, so what better opportunity to stay in touch and, hopefully, give something back than to become a governor."

Hanbury has been my home since 1991 - my links with Hanbury School go back nearly as far.  All three of my children (now in their 20s) attended the school and have many happy memories. Friendships made at Hanbury are still close; mine with fellow parents and theirs with pupils.

As a parent I did reading, cooking and lunchtime cover. Hanbury School has a very special place in my heart for what it gave to my family, so what better opportunity to stay in touch and, hopefully, give something back than to become a governor.

I am a Diocesan Governor, which means that I represent the church on the governing body. It has been wonderful to see how our school’s Christian values have been taken to heart by the whole school community. I have been a part of the Open the Book team since we began coming in to school over 10 years ago – my stock of props has grown outrageously over that time.

Over lock-down I was a participant (like so many others) in the Joe Wicks PE lessons. My dog Bertie tried to join in and can make ‘mountain climbers’ even harder! I am a firm believer in the huge benefits of keeping fit for our mental and physical health and walk every day in the fields around Hanbury.
