Easter Celebrations!

Easter is always a special time at Hanbury CE First School, and this year we all managed to dodge the worst of the weather to get out and celebrate!

Our Easter Service was full of song and stories, including Year 4 telling the congregation of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection through the eyes of a donkey.  As ever, they led the service alongside their fellow pupils who added their voices with musical performances to mark the occasion.

Earlier that week, classes had been learning about Incarnation in their RE lessons.  They also thought about what this term’s Hanbury Christian Value means and feels like – deciding that even though sometimes it is hard to do, forgiveness provides a chance for a fresh start, lets love flow and feels bubbly!

An incredibly muddy walk to Hanbury Hall did nothing to diminish the excitement for our Easter Egg Hunt!  The Friends of Hanbury School had invited the Easter Bunny to say hello, then we all went to search the beautiful surroundings for eggs that they had hidden!  We feel very lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful countryside and for Hanbury Hall to be such kind hosts for a very happy (or should that be “hoppy”) way to end the term!

The Friends’ egg decorating competition proved very difficult to judge!  Some egg-stremely creative designs brightened up the school and made everyone smile!
