On 17th and 18th June, Year 4 performed their 'Pirates vs Mermaid' play. It is one of the final events that the year 4 pupils have the opportunity to perform at before the end of the year.
The children had worked so hard over the past weeks to learn their words, dances and songs in order to put on an amazing show. They were excellent over the two nights, with the audience in hysterics and the even bringing tears to some eyes.
One of the final chapters in the class’ Hanbury story was their residential visit to Malvern, which was filled with exciting activities and memorable experiences. Throughout the trip, the children embraced challenges such as the zip wire, climbing, archery, bushcraft, low ropes and the nightline, showing great enthusiasm and determination.
In the evening children enjoyed free time and spending time with each other as well as was watching the France v Morocco football match together, creating a brilliant atmosphere for everyone.
Despite very little sleep (including the adults!), the children's behaviour throughout the residential was exceptional. They represented the school brilliantly, showing kindness, respect and excellent teamwork at all times.
The residential provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop resilience, independence and confidence. It was fantastic to see them challenge themselves, support one another and create memories that will last for years to come. We are incredibly proud of every single one of them.
