On Wednesday, we all went to Lunt Roman Fort on a coach to learn more about Romans. We met our guide by the shimmering gates that we saw in the distance. Only Henry knew the password to get in, it was Posca.
Then we learned that sinister and dexter means left and right and were taught how to fight with wooden swords and shields. Following that, we went to the gyro; a big, round arena that Romans battled in.
Then, we ate lunch... it was delicious!
Next, we walked to the armoury and met our guide there. He picked Stanley to put Roman armour on. Did you know that "chain mail" is a name that was made up by the Victorians?
Finally, tired but excited from our day, we got onto the coach and went back to school. I would like to go back to Lunt Fort one day. If you would too, they are having a Roman Festival on 8th and 9th of August
