Hanbury C of E First school joined in the British Science Week celebrations, which has seen eggs dropped, kernels popped, insects stick and bubbles float!

The week, organised by The British Science Association, aims to celebrate science, engineering, technology and maths.

Each class has taken part in an activity every day around the theme of “change and adapt”.

A whole day of experiments on Wednesday coincided with the opportunity for the children to dress up in a science-themed costume.  Their outfits reflected the variety of opportunities that a future in STEM could hold.

Each class met Atomic Alan on Friday, and learned about the air around us and the science behind it.

“It has been wonderful seeing the excitement and amazement throughout the school this week,” said Science Lead, Vicky Bishop.

“Weeks like this always seem to reinforce the message that science is all around us - we’re thrilled to have provided experiences that the children will remember for a long time to come!”
