This week the owls from the Too Hoots sanctuary visited Reception Class.
The children had an amazing experience meeting some of the incredible owls, cared for by Chloe and John who run the sanctuary. They currently look after 42 owls, each with their own story.
One of the visitors was a tawny owl called Bracken. Bracken was once wild but had been taken in before she had learnt to hunt properly, so now lives permanently at the sanctuary. She was joined by Nutmeg, a European eagle owl; one of the largest owl species in the world.
"It was a brilliant morning," said Reception Teacher, Mrs Mills. "We learnt so much about these beautiful and mysterious birds and we now know how important sanctuaries are for looking after owls that can not survive in the wild."
Chloe and John were very thankful for the kind donations from the class which will help them continue to care for Bracken, Nutmeg and their 40 friends!
