Year 1 visited Hanbury Hall as part of their history topic studying how the local area has changed over time and how the Vernons were a very important family in Hanbury back in the 18th century.
They looked around the gardens and the house, exploring what life would have been like to the people living there, enjoying spotting fantastic paintings and murals. The children were interested to hear that there were no cameras to take photos at the time they were created!
The children also imagined what life would be like with servants to do everything for you and what it was like to have gardeners who would make sure the many gardens were kept beautiful for us to admire.
