Super Sports Day

News

3rd July 2025

Yesterday's beautiful weather gave us all the chance to enjoy our annual Sports Day. The action was split into two parts with the Reception and KS1 children participating in the morning and KS2 pupils taking part in the afternoon.

The younger pupils completed a carousel of activities with a competitive element to each event, including an obstacle race, an egg and spoon race, a ball throw, a bean bag relay and a long jump. Lots of excellent endurance, teamwork and healthy competitiveness was demonstrated through the morning. The fun was then capped off by the sprint races where all the children and adults gathered round to watch!

In the afternoon, it was the turn of the older pupils. Their carousel consisted of an obstacle race, a long jump, a speed bounce, a javelin throw and a shot putt. Again, like their KS1 counterparts, the pupils approached the events with an excellent attitude boosted by lots of encouragement for the children competing in the events. Some hotly contested sprint races and very close finishes ended an excellent day packed with sport!
