The UK coast is a focus in much of Year 1's learning this term, including their humanities topic which involves comparing our local area with the beach; its geographical features and the ways we interact with it.
The class welcomed Colin from the RNLI on earlier this week. He shared lots of important messages with the children about who keeps people safe at the coast.
He also passed on some important advice on how we can keep ourselves safe too; not only at the coast, but when we visit rivers, lakes and canals.
"Colin was very impressed with the super knowledge the children already had," said Year 1 teacher, Carys Adams. "Everyone engaged with the lesson well, so I know we all learned a lot more. Hopefully Colin's visit will help us enjoy lots of safe, happy trips to the seaside in the future!"
