It was not what Mr McDonagh had envisaged, but his first announcement on our TE Day last Thursday was to inform staff about the fatal accident that had occurred on School Road earlier that week.
As members of the Hanbury community, we wanted to add our voice to the tributes paid to the well-loved and highly respected villager who tragically lost her life. Our thoughts are will her family and all who knew her.
Mr McDonagh also confirmed that we would continue to press for changes to the 40mph speed limit that is currently in place outside school, which then reverts to the national speed limit further along the lane.
We have continually voiced our concerns about road safety in the local area and are committed to joining others in the village to ensure these voices are louder than ever.
A petition launched by a member of the local community is asking Wychavon Council, West Mercia's Police and Crime Commissioner and the Safer Roads Partnership to take action.
We would urge you to show your support by adding your name. Click here to visit the petition page.
