Reception had a truly magical day at Churchfields Farm last Thursday, celebrating their brilliant win in the scarecrow competition!
The children started their visit with a behind-the-scenes look at how Churchfields makes its delicious ice cream in the parlour—topped off with a taste-test of their newest flavours (a definite highlight!).
They were fascinated to learn how salt is made from Droitwich brine and got a close-up look at the farm’s impressive biomass system, which uses wood chips to heat the entire café and farm buildings—a great way to learn about sustainability in action.
The adventure continued with animal feeding in the paddocks, exploring the outdoor play equipment, and a magical journey along the fairy trail, where the children even met a friendly troll!
It was a fantastic day full of fun, learning, and laughter and a terrific reward for all the effort the children put into creating their super scarecrow!
