A huge thank you to everyone who could attend this term's Curriculum Sharing sessions, where each class gets to spend time enjoying a fun lesson with parents and grandparents. It was lovely to share some of our learning with you.

Reception class enjoyed a wonderful curriculum sharing session based around the story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?"  The children explored the beautiful illustrations of Eric Carle and created their own bears in the same style. vThey also created collage bears using a variety of different materials.

The children also developed their cutting and measuring skills by cutting art straws into different lengths to create dinosaur bone silhouettes, producing some fantastic prehistoric artwork. It was a fun and creative session, and everyone was proud to share their learning.

Year 1 shared a variety of skills they have been learning during their session on Tuesday afternoon.  The children have been looking at a balanced diet and why it important to eat a variety of foods, so they designed and made our sandwich with a little help from our grown-ups.  The children also used different coins to pay for ingredients before using them, making sure they looked at the value of each coin.  They even practised with giving change!
Year 2 children had a wonderful time welcoming their parents to practice safe chopping skills while preparing a variety of fresh salad vegetables.  They enjoyed exploring different textures, colours and flavours and were encouraged to taste vegetables they may not have tried before. It was fantastic to see everyone working together and building confidence in their food preparation skills.
Year 3 staged a Roman battle on the playground after creating spectacular shields and lolly stick catapults!  The shields were carefully designed and constructed to intimidate enemies and included representations of Roman Gods who the soldiers believed were on their side.  The children took them outside and formed an effective defensive line against the oncoming foam ball attack!
The children in Year 4 designed pastries with fillings and created their own designs during their session. There were some very interesting end products created, but it was an excellent morning with lots of super teamwork between children and their adults.
