Year 1 and 2 joined schools from around Bromsgrove at a morning of dance yesterday. They took to the floor to perform routines based on this term’s topics.
Year 2 told the story of the Great Fire of London, showing the dramatic way the fire spread and devastated the city. Year 1 used the story of Earnest Shackleton to start their dance, followed by a performance packed with penguins!
The dances have been developed during PE lessons, led by Cassie Rivett from Dancefest; an organisation that aim to transform lives through the power of dance.
The children also had the opportunity to watch dancers of all ages during the event, which was organised by All Active Academy and hosted by South Bromsgrove High School.
”We were so proud of the children - they fought back any nerves and did a great job,” said Year 2 Teacher, Vicky Bishop. “We’re grateful to Cassie and to the organisers for the opportunity to take part in an event which had so much variety and talent.”
