6th May 2026

Experts from SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs & Disability Information, Advice and Support Service) will be delivering a workshop for parents around transition and change at Finstall First School, Bromsgrove on Thursday 21st May at 5pm.

The 2-hour session is for parents and carers of children and young people who have or may have SEND who struggle with change or are approaching a significant transition.

Changes and transitions within a child’s life can be small things like finishing playing a game or getting ready for dinner to big things like starting a new school.

This interactive workshop will provide parents and carers with strategies and resources to support their child through changes.

From this workshop you can expect:

  • Practical guidance and tips on how to support your child through change
  • Interactive activities to help create a personalised transition booklet
  • The opportunity to ask questions and discuss real-life scenarios

Specific details of individual school transition processes will not be discussed. However, Mrs Ward, the SENDCO from Aston Fields Middle School, will be attending the workshop and she will stay afterwards for you to ask any questions. St John's were unable to make this workshop, however, they will be offering transition information separately.

Once you have completed the booking form, you will be required to complete an enrolment form and, on the day, attendees will need to bring a form of ID such as a bank card or driving licence. This is because SENDASS workshops are subsidised by the Department for Education (DfE). They require SENDIASS to collect information from learners to monitor how they use the funding they give them. They only collect necessary information and use it in line with the Worcestershire Learning Services privacy notice. Without this information, they may not be able to offer you a place.
