A new school year is once more upon us, with all of the excitement and anticipation it brings. Mr McDonagh welcomed existing pupils back to school in the last Newsletter, and extended a warm welcome to the parents and children joining the Hanbury family this month.
I was delighted to be in school for the Teacher Training Day before the start of term and be able to join staff to celebrate Miss Bishop’s 25 years of dedicated service to Hanbury pupils past and present. We also welcomed four new members of staff, and it is testament to the excellent reputation of the school that these new recruits were appointed from very strong fields of applicants.
Visiting our newly opened Pre School last term was an absolute joy; seeing the children relishing the wonderful facilities both inside and outside the tipi. The curriculum designed and managed by Mrs Mills will provide an excellent foundation for future learning as children progress into local Reception classes.
Staff and Governors are very proud of the School, and the active support that it receives from parents. If your child has just joined us, why not consider going along to a Friends of Hanbury Meeting (our school PTA) to find out what activities are being planned in this coming year, and how you could help ? Details of meetings can be found on Newsletter.
Our Governor details are on the School website and we can be contacted through the School office. We visit the School frequently and are always pleased to chat to parents!
