We have had a very busy week with sharks, gummy bears and trolls!!

We have been working hard this week with larger numbers. We are looking to see how many tens and ones there are in two-digit numbers. We have discovered how important it is to get the digits the correct way around. If you don't then you have a completely different number!!

We have started a new book in literacy which is all about a frog! He just wants to sit down but, as the cat explains, he should only sit on a log! Did you know that gophers sit on sofas and storks sit on forks?!

We had great fun investigating sharks this week. We used metre sticks and trundle wheels to see if a whale shark would fit on the school playground. We measured the length of different types of shark and we were amazed at how big they are. We used our measurements and scaled them down so we could draw them in our books.

The most exciting part of the week was Forest Schools. We had a special guest helper who took us on an adventure involving trolls, gummy bears and warriors! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed making sculptures out of natural materials. We got some of our ideas from the work of Andy Goldsworthy.
