Holiday Club: Week 1

8th August 2020
We had lots of fun during the first week of Holiday Club - it was wonderful to see so many happy faces back at Hanbury!

Our theme was "Elmer the Elephant".  We read a story every day and inbetween lots of indoor and outdoor playtime, we kept really busy creating all kinds of wonderful elephant-themed crafts!

We painted masks with trunks that could swing, patchworked our own elephants using fabric, baked cakes, decorated biscuits, made springy trunks to go on our kitchen roll elephants, wove woolly stars, created friendship bracelets (because Elmer has lots of friends!) and made colourful clay badges... phew!

We ended the week with an elephant parade in the playground and enjoying a play written, directed and produced by some of our Holiday Clubbers using puppets and a theatre we had all built!

There's a different theme next week... we might need to find our sea-legs for this one!
