We have recently been focusing on the topic of 'Ourselves' in Reception.
We have used the story Funny Bones in lots of our activities, including making junk model houses.
In Maths we have been counting 'bones' and matching them to the correct numeral.  We even made skeletons using the 'bones' and counted them, making sure we count each 'bone' once.
In phonics we have been learning our new sounds 'n', 'm', 'd', 'g' and 'o'.  We have also been learning to segment and blend words using our robot arms to help us with our reading.
At the end of this week, we looked at the Hindu celebration of Diwali and the story of Ramu and Sita.  We made Diva pots using salt dough, glitter and sequins then made patterns using coloured rice, along with Rangoli patterns cut out of paper.
Have a wonderful half term break, we look forward to back at school and ready to start preparing for our Christmas Nativity!
