What an exciting week we have had!
We had a visit from the fire service which the children absolutely loved. They got to learn why smoke alarms are important and how we keep safe if there is a fire. The children got to go and see the fire engine and even had the opportunity to use the hoses.
PHONICS: This week we have been revising all those phase 3 sounds and now we are starting to apply them in our reading and writing. We will move on to phase 4 after the Easter holidays.
LITERACY: We have been doing lots of superhero writing. The children have been concentrating on using their phonics to spell and using some of those tricky words too.
MATHS: We have been concentrating on one more and one less using objects. Some children have found this a bit tricky so if you could practice at home that would be great! We are also looking at ordering numbers to 20 which is one of our Early Learning Goals. If you have the opportunity then the children would love to have a go at writing their numbers to 20 independently, or using number cards and putting them in order.
