Sunbeams News: 6th June 2020
6th June 2020
This week the children have blown us away with how easily they have adapted to the new routines and school life.
We have focused on the theme ‘Under the Sea’ and have enjoyed creating musical instruments to go with our dance from Little Mermaid, which our class band, ‘The Tiddlers’ performed for our parents on tapestry.
After discussing different sea creatures, we have been very creative collaging scenery and making masterpieces out of playdough, materials and rocks. We have written letters to Mr Payne about life under the sea and enjoyed sharing sea themed projects. We took a yoga adventure with Norris the Baby Seahorse and have learnt some new gonoodle dances (Guacamole is the new favourite!)
We finished off our week by taking a virtual class trip to an aquarium to explore rockpools, create edible jellyfish and take a trip on a school bus. Special thanks to the parents who sent in their photos of previous visits. The children thoroughly enjoyed pretending to walk through the sharks tunnel and swimming with the stingrays!
Please continue to listen to your children read on rising stars. Mrs Mills has allocated books specific to your child's reading level and even a couple of pages a night makes a huge difference.
Enjoy your weekend and we will see you again on Monday where new adventures await!
