It has been another busy week in Year 1.

We have been investigating birds and how they are different from other groups of animal.  We wanted to investigate some of their features in more depth and so we had a battle of the beaks.  We wanted to see which type of beak on which type of bird would be the most effective at keeping a bird alive.  We looked at different types of beak and then competed to see who could pick up the most food.  We worked out that the birds which the sharp, hooked beaks would be the winners of the battle.

In numeracy, we have been working on our numbers up to 50 again and finding out what is one more and one less.  We are getting more and more confident at counting using higher numbers and Mr Payne was very impressed when he came to see us.

We had a wonderful time on World Book Day and there were some interesting costumes.  We learnt more about 'Oi Frog' and enjoyed looking at what other children had dressed up as.
