Year 2 News: 1st May 2020

1st May 2020

It has been another busy week in Year Two! We have started looking at our new topic of castles and we thought about what it would be like to be a king. What decisions would we have to make and what could we ask other people to do instead? We looked at different jobs and thought about whether they were important or not.

In Science, we started to look at how animal species continue to survive. The children were set the task of finding out about the offspring of different animals and Miss Bishop learned a thing or two about baby animals! Did you know that a baby shark was called a pup?

Measuring has been a huge part of our week in maths and we have been estimating, measuring, comparing and problem solving. We are going to look at other units of measure over the coming weeks.

It has lovely seeing all of the work coming in on Seesaw and the amount of effort going in to different activities is wonderful. You are all doing a brilliant job.

A big thank you and well done to those of you regularly logging in to your reading books. It is wonderful to see. Please try to take the quizzes at the end of each book so I can see how well you understand the text. You will also start to see some times table quizzes and comprehension activities for you to complete.

Have a wonderful weekend and keep your fingers crossed for some nice weather.
