Year 2 News: 26th April 2018

26th April 2018
Star of the Week:  Harrison
Mathematician of the Week:  Samantha
Writer of the Week:  Amelia
Values Champion:  Noah
Literacy:  We had a fantastic time at the Botanical Gardens last Friday.  This week we have been busy planning and writing a recount of the day.  We will be posting some of our work on the school website, so stay tuned to find out what we got up to!
Maths:  This week we have been finding out what happens if we can't share things out fairly... we end up with 'remainders'.  We also used what we know about multiples of 2 and 5 to answer questions... without even having to work them out!
Topic:  Following on from British Values day, we have been learning about the British Isles; its capital cities, flags and national symbols.
PE:  We are very lucky this term as we have 2 wonderful PE lessons each week - Tri Golf on a Friday and Games with our lovely coach, Jim on a Monday.  This week, Jim turned some of us into monsters who had to catch our friends before they ran to their hut... it helped us develop speeding up and slowing down skills!
