Home learner of the week: Marcus Williams

Wow! What a busy week year 3 have had. This week the children have had to role play what happened when Boudicca was betrayed by the Romans. We have been really impressed with how they have empathised with characters such as farmers and slaves and how they were affected by this. The children really got into role, with many dressing up in some amazing costumes and with some interesting props.

In maths, we have been practising our column method skills whilst converting cm to mm. We have used this skill to dig deeper, solve problems and to complete some Mondrian style colouring pieces.

In science, we have continued to see some imaginative ideas for creating mini compost bins and have learnt about plant hunters. It is amazing to discover that the nature we see every day was actually brought here from all around the world.

In art we have loved seeing your wonderful self-portraits. It is amazing how they have captured those cheeky smiles and lovely personalities. We are really enjoying seeing the lovely projects that you have been doing at home. From Amelia’s ‘lava’ lamp and Evie’s ‘light’ box to The Tandy’s ‘self-defence group video’  - it’s amazing to see the experiences that you are getting.

A special mention must go to Natasha – who is doing 50 laps around her block on her bike. Amazing that, at this time she is trying to find a way to raise money for others and help Children in Need.
