Year 4 News: 5th December 2019

5th December 2019
What a busy week it has been!

On Saturday, members of year 4 sang at Burcot Garden Centre and earned a wonderful real Christmas tree that the children will have the opportunity to decorate before it stands pride of place in the entrance.  We had lots of wonderful comments about our performance and we would like to thank all those for coming to support us.

On Monday, Reverend Morris delivered an assembly on advent.  We all spent he morning thinking about what this means and learning more about it. Year 4 were tasked with looking at the role of the Wise Men in the Christmas Story.  Using resources from 'Voices of Advent', we found out that the Wise Men were actually outcasts and this lead to us researching the plight of refugees, especially children, and the hurdles they have to overcome.

After receiving a donation of musical instruments from the Droitwich Ukulele Group, we compiled thank you letters to show our gratitude.  We are also finishing off any writing tasks from our work on  WW1 and our narrative about Riddle House.

We began a new maths tropic of symmetry this week and will be exploring this idea further in our lessons.
