A Remembrance Prayer

11th November 2018
Today we remember those who died,
We wear our red poppy with lots of pride,
The poppy reminds us of the lives they lost,
Brave soldiers who fought at their cost.

These poppies now grow on the fields where they lay,
The soldiers sacrifice we remember to this day,
The guns are now silent and we are too,
As we bow our heads and remember you.

We will never forget the horrors you faced,
In the trenches, at war to keep us safe,
In the battlefields a special flower they grew,
A poppy to wear as a symbol of you.
